SENECA COUNTY

FARMERS

Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) of Seneca County has received funding support from New York State Agriculture and Markets to compile a Seneca County Farm Product and Agri-Tourism Guide. This guide will serve as a resource to county residents and visitors seeking local farm products and agri-tourism activities.

Do you want to reach a larger consumer base and get the word out about what your farm has to offer? The Seneca County Farm Product and Agri-Tourism Guide will help you do this. Is your farm part time or full time, big or small, have a few products or many such as vegetables, horticulture, wine, meat, dairy, corn maze, school tours, or pick your own? If yes then having your farm listed in the guide is a must. Farm name and address, products for sale, contact information, directions to your place, in addition to a few sentences about your farm are just a few of the things that will be included in this resource. In addition the guide will be available electronically from the CCE Seneca County website and include maps to each farm listed. Farm markets, roadside stands, and stores will also be listed in this guide.

If you are a farmer in Seneca County and are doing direct farm product sales to the consumer or some form of agri-tourism/education you can have your farm listed along with the various products sold from your farm. This guide will be very comprehensive and be available during 2009 at public outlets throughout Seneca County. A farmer application can be downloaded by clicking here or by calling the CCE office at 315-539-9251. The application contains a complete listing of farm qualification guidelines. For any questions please call Patti or Mike at 315-539 9251.
