Welcome to
Cornell Cooperative Extension
of Sullivan County

This past July 19th the Cornell Cooperative Extension of Sullivan County held its second annual Golf Classic, to raise funds for the various programs that are housed at the Extension building. This year’s Golf Classic was chock full of good times and laughs between friends.
Lots of ground work went on this year in the months and weeks leading up to the fundraiser, with staff and volunteers passing out fliers and letters asking for players and sponsors. A huge thanks has to go out to our volunteers for their efforts, without them this year’s event would not have been possible. Staff went above the call of duty as well, searching high and low for contributors until the day of the event.
I want to thank all of our Gold, Silver and Bronze tee box sponsors for making the entire event possible. I would also like to thank all the local business’ who donated to our raffle table. We also had great contributions from local Sullivan County Agencies and volunteers, staff members and Cooperative Extension members. In the end it came together perfectly and the weather cooperated nicely to make up a lovely day!
The winners of this year’s Golf Classic were Pat Welsh, Jim Graham, Al Feller, and Rob Esposito. Congratulations guys! Thanks to all of the players who came out to support Extension. This year we exceeded year one’s total of 54 golfers with 61players who came up to the golf course with us.
The folks at Swan Lake Golf and Country Club did an amazing job, Todd Gallo, Bob Menges and the rest of the staff put in a huge effort to ensure our successful day. Prizes were given out to the closest to the pin for both men and women, as well as longest drive for men and women and the most honest foursome.
In the days since the tournament I have run into a couple of the players, everyone seemed to have a fantastic time. I hope to see everyone back next year for more fun and laughs, and we will make sure to try and improve upon our efforts every year here forth!
Thanks to all involved!
