Waste Management

When plants and animals die, a natural process of decay occurs which is critical to soil health. Managing these organic wastes through composting and land application has long-term implications for sustainability and the public's health and safety.

Cornell University faculty and researchers partner with Cornell Cooperative Extension professionals to provide individuals, farmers, and communities with education and technical assistance on the best practices for managing all types   of organic wastes including: animal manure, sewage sludge, household and   yard waste and road kill.
