Change Agent States for Diversity

Cornell Cooperative Extension is part of a seven-state national diversity consortium begun in 2000 that is leading and modeling change for the extension system. Other states include PA, CO, NC, MO, ND, and AZ.

The purpose of the CASD is to build the capacity of the Cooperative Extension System, and its Research and University partners, to function inclusively and effectively in a multicultural world; setting standards and implementing a vision for healthy, thriving, and productive communities. CASD provides for an eight-state partnership committed to pluralism and the challenge of leading and modeling change. This project builds a national resource of practical, applicable tools, strategies, successes, and expertise.

Seven new states, the Change Agent States for Engagement (CASE), were added in 2004. The original states will work with the new states to continue the process of learning and leading change together. The CASD states are LA, DE, WA, ID, NM, MS, and SD.
