''Inclusive Workplaces: Creating Room for Growth''
On-Request Workshop

Overview
Cultural backgrounds, experiences, and individual uniqueness can enrich an organization, making it more innovative and competitive. Realizing the benefits of diversity involves opportunities for employee self-awareness, understanding, and skill development. This workshop uses a personal profile tool that provides a way for employees to explore the complex issues surrounding diversity in four key areas: knowledge, understanding, acceptance and behavior.

Objectives

  • Identify and understand skills and competencies needed by organization
  • Identify personal areas for growth, how they will strengthen one’s professional development
  • Identify resources and opportunities for professional development
  • Application of concrete ways/ideas for creating an inclusive work environment and organization

Facilitators
This workship typically is facilitated by two members of the CCE Diversity and Inclusion Professional Development Team.

Format and Emphases
Facilitators work with the requesting organization (typically with the Executive Director) to identify topics for emphasis and session length and format. Typical sessions are 3 or 4 hours active workshop time.

Fees
There typically is a flat fee of $250 for two facilitators for a three hour session or $300 for a four hour session plus facilitator travel expenses. The host site also covers costs of materials reproduction, typically about 20 pages per participant. At the present time, costs of the "Discovering Diversity Profile" of about $12 per participant are being covered by CCE diversity initiatives budget.
