June 2008 - Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County is proud of our staff and family members who participated in Jefferson County's YMCA Community Cup sporting activities during the past few weeks. Congratulations, Advantage Chess Team!

 The LaFargeville Advantage program K-6 chess team stunned Central New York with a first place finish in the Mariani Holiday Classic chess tournament held in Syracuse on December 15, 2007. Every team member scored points, and three students won individual trophies.

The annual meeting of the board of directors of Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County will be held Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Partridge Berry Inn, Watertown, with a social mixer at 6:15 p.m. followed by a short business meeting and dinner at 7:00 p.m. Dinner will feature a grand buffet of locally produced foods including Beef Stroganoff, Oven Roasted Pork, and Macaroni and Cheese. The cost of the dinner is $20. Reservations are required by November 10, 2008 by contacting Lori Robinson at 788-8450 or Lmr92@cornell.edu.
