Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County educates youth, families, farmers and communities using research-based knowledge for practical application and life-long learning.

We are located at 203 North Hamilton Street in Watertown, with additional offices at Fort Drum, LaFargeville Central School, Copenhagen School, and at 4-H Camp Wabasso in the Town of Theresa on Millsite Lake. Our full-time staff of about 85, with a seasonal staff of about 30 at 4-H Camp Wabasso, provides residents of Jefferson County with a broad variety of practical information that is useful to people in their everyday lives.

We offer something for just about everybody—including information about agriculture, gardening, home, nutrition, parenting, teen issues, and opportunities for young people, as well as programs to enhance the lives of our military families. We serve thousands of people every year.

We believe that “knowledge is power.” Through school and community programs, publications, new technologies, facilitated discussion groups, mass media, and other means, we help people use knowledge to enhance their own lives, as well as the lives of their families and communities.

Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County is part of a nationwide educational system funded by national, state, and county organizations. We are part of the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s network of community-based agencies throughout the country. We are affiliated with Cornell University, one of the world’s premier research institutions and the land grant university for the State of New York. We also work closely with Extension offices in the other 56 counties of the state, as well as with New York City Extension programs.

Along with our connections and programming expertise, Cornell Cooperative Extension Association of Jefferson County has many unique strengths.

Our offices are open from 8:30a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. (Summer hours from July 1 through August 31 are 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.)
