Scholarship Committee

Committee Chair: Amy Ivy

The NACAA scholarship program is an excellent opportunity for all members of NYSACAA. Those who apply for scholarships receive support for their professional improvement. Others have the opportunity to invest in the future of their colleges and the capacity of Cooperative Extension agricultural programs across the nation by contributing to the scholarship fund.

Scholarship Committee Chair Responsibilties:

The NYSACAA State Scholarship Chair is charged with the responsibility of promoting the NACAA Scholarship Program. Responsibilities include:

  • Encourage NACAA members to submit applications for individual and group scholarships.
  • Provide information regarding the NACAA Scholarship Application process, required contribution for eligibility, scholarship application forms, deadlines and to assist applicants in making complete and accurate applications.
  • Serve as a communication link between NYSACAA and the NACAA Scholarship Chair and the Northeast Regional Scholarship Vice Chair.
  • Assist in the collection of scholarship funds from members, friends and supporters and forward funds to the NACAA Scholarship Chair. Obtain the name and address and amount of individual contributions so that information can be entered into the NACAA database and due recognition be given to the donors.
  • Maintain records of contributions made to NACAA Scholarship Fund and obtain an annual report from the NACAA Scholarship Chair.
  • Serve as a fund-raiser for the NACAA Scholarship Foundation.

Working with the NYSACAA State Treasurer: At times making NACAA Scholarship Foundation donations to the Treasurer may be convenient for NYSACAA members. The Treasurer should forward such funds (checks made payable to NACAA Foundation) and information on the donor directly to the NACAA Scholarship Chair in a timely fashion.
