Volunteers

Have you got the time for a good cause? Want to make a difference? You can help by becoming a volunteer with the youth of today. Seneca County 4-H Youth Development wants you to volunteer. It is a fun and easy way to help youth (ages 5 to 19) learn life skills that will help them grow into healthy and productive citizens. As an adult volunteer, you will be to ensure a better future for the youth in your community. All our volunteers are screened and trained to be the most capable volunteers around.

Volunteers:

  • Come from all walks of life
  • Are the adult leaders of 4-H clubs
  • Complete an application with reference checks before becoming 4-H leaders.
  • May be asked to serve on various committees within the structure of the Cooperative Extension system.
  • Serve as evaluators for specific 4-H programs and often asked to help chaperone or assist with 4-H activities and trips.

Adult volunteers are given an orientation and are given ongoing guidance with professional 4-H staff. Volunteers are notified about activities through email, phone calls, and newsletters.
