The Sea Explorers Marine Day Camp is a weeklong summer experience for children ages 6-8 and 9-11. Our marine educators use hands-on activities to teach about marine science and Long Island’s marine environment. Your child will explore local beaches and salt marshes to learn about the fascinating creatures that live there. They will also have close encounters with a variety of marine animals in our touch tanks. Other activities your child will enjoy include:

• marine research techniques
• beach and marsh exploration
• fishing and beach seining
• games and marine crafts

Each session is held Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Cornell Cooperative Extension in cooperation with the Sport Fishing Alliance is proud to present this program to you. The Sport Fishing Alliance is made up of members from several organizations including Cornell Cooperative Extension of Suffolk County, NYSDEC, New York Sea Grant, Long Island Beach Buggy Association, and New York Fishing Tackle Trades Association. It is our hope that children and adults will learn stewardship and an appreciation for protecting, conserving and restoring our aquatic natural resources.

The camp is held at the Sport Fishing Education Center at Cedar Beach Marina on Ocean Parkway in Babylon. There are sessions for 6-8 year olds and 9-11 year olds. Call 631-587-2873 for more information.
