National Take a Child Outside Week
September 24-30
National Take a Child Outside Week is a program designed to help break
down obstacles that keep children from discovering the natural world.
By arming parents, teachers and other caregivers with resources on outdoor
activities, the goal is to help children across the country develop a
better understanding and appreciation of the environment in which they
live, and a burgeoning enthusiasm for its exploration. Learn more about
what you can do: http://takeachildoutside.org/
Organizations in Tompkins and Cortland Counties have teamed up to offer activates to celebrate National Take a Child Outside Week. Check out all that's going on at the Ithaca Children's Garden, Cornell Plantations, Lime Hollow Center for Environment and Culture, Cayuga Nature Center, Finger Lakes Land Trust, and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology.
