wanted to know what fly fishing is all about? The Adirondack Reelers
4-H Fly Fishing Club will introduce youth to the history of fly fishing,
equipment, and tying flies. Youth will learn how to identify fish
and how fish live. The club will teach youth about the importance
that the watershed, rivers, streams, lakes, and ponds have on our
environment. Youth will learn by doing exciting hands-on projects

Warren County 4-H Clubs Seeking New Members 4-H is a youth
development organization that teaches valuable life skills to youth
ages five to nineteen through hands on activities. The following Warren
County 4-H Clubs have openings for new members. Youth ages 6-12, who
are interested in chickens, pheasant rearing, and having fun can join
the 4-H Adirondack Venturers Club. They meet every other Thursday
after school at the Thurman Town Hall. |

4-H Branches Out Into Forestry ![]() Cornell University Cooperative Extension’s 4-H Youth Development Program is forming a new special interest group for youth interested in forestry. The 4-H Forestry Club will introduce youth to the world of forestry and the forest industry. Club members will participate in hands-on activities and field trips. The forestry club will learn topics such as: tree identification, selecting and harvesting wood for a variety of products, disease and insects that effect trees, map and compass training, and environmental stewardship. To

4-H is (Geo) Caching in on a New Adventure Have you heard about Geocaching? Do you want to learn or know more about how to use a GPS? If the answer is yes, we think that the 4-H GPS/GEOCACHING club is for you. 4-H is looking for youth members (over the age of 9) and club leaders to establish a GPS/GEOCACHING club as part of the national initiative called SET (Science, Engineering, and Technology) On Thursday, June 19th at 6:30pm, there will be an informational meeting about this club conducted at the Cornell University Cooperative Extension Education Center on 377 Schroon River Road in Warrensburg. We are seeking parents or interested adults to volunteer as leaders for this club. A mandatory new leader training is provided free of charge. For the safety of everyone involved, all active volunteers must undergo a criminal and driving background check conducted through our office at our cost. To
