FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Washington County 4-Hers Travel to Pok-O-MacCready

Ten 4-H youth and two chaperones enjoyed three days of winter recreation and education at Camp Pok-O-MacCready in Essex County on February 18-21, 2005.

Group members participate in a variety of activities designed to create greater understanding of teamwork and to explore individual skills. The youth chose to stay at the camp longer in 2005 and the activities changed with the additional time. This year they included a winter hike up Rattlesnake Mountain, snowshoeing, ice fishing; as well as the regulars of winter survival, cross-country skiing, and the team building/obstacle course.

While the most of the participants are Teen Council members, the trip is open to all Washington County 4-H teens. The cost of the trip is subsidized by funds that Teen Council raises at the 4-H Food Booth during the Washington County Fair. For more information about 4-H Youth Development, contact the Cornell Cooperative Extension office in your county. In Washington County 746-2560, Saratoga County 885-8995, and in Warren County 668-4881.
