Farm Transfer Class on January 26th

One of the most difficult problems a business can face is the process of transferring to the next generation. On January 26th, 2006 Cornell Cooperative Extension is hosting a class: "Successful Farm Transfer: Protecting What You Work For" in Ballston Spa. The class is designed to provide businesses a road map that will help them find their final destination successfully.

Using a mix of real-world anecdotes and what-if examples, Jeff Fetter, and attorney from Syracuse and Steve Richards from NY FarmLink will help to lead class participants through some valuable discussion. Marge Randles from Randles Financial Services and Norm Coe of First Pioneer Farm Credit will also contribute some excellent financial expertise to the class.

Knowing what some of the pitfalls are and understanding the stakes of the process can help a business begin to move forward profitably. Registration is $40 for the first farm member and $30 for each additional member. Each farm will receive 3 workbooks in addition to any other handout materials. For more information and to register please call CCE at 1-800-548-0881 or 746-2560.
