Introduction
Is college for you?
Returning to school after years at home or work is a difficult decision, but
more and more women are making this bold move to change their lives.
"I
woke up dreading going to work...I need to do something else. And
in order to find that, I had to go back to school."
"When
you are educated, it just changes you. You don't see it while you
are there. It changes who you are and the way you think."
Education
Pays
A new analysis
of census data shows that over a lifetime, individuals with college degrees
earn almost twice as much as those who have only a high school diploma. Between
the ages of 25 and 65, high school grads can hope to earn $1.2 million while
college grads earn $2.1 million. Advanced degree holders will earn from $2.5
million to $4.4 million.
If you want
to take a college course or begin or complete a degree, you can gather information
and investigate options at the Transitions program.
